12″ Tactical Sirupate Kukri | Baanspate Khukuri is one of the local khukuri from eastern Nepal. The name “Baaspate’” is derived from the word “Baans” which is a bamboo tree that has straight and sharp leaves. Unlike other types of khukuri, the blade of the Baanspate khukuri is much straighter and provides for razor-sharp cutting. The blade is less bent at the spine and it is not as wide as other knives. This kind of blade is very useful for light work. Nowadays Gurkhas from the British Army also use a similar kind of light blade for jungle training.

The 12″ Tactical Sirupate Kukri | Baanspate Khukuri has a 12-inch blade made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel with a polished finish. The Tactical Kukri has a 5-inch long rat tail tang handle made from Indian rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo) and the Kanzo (bolster) is made from brass which makes it extremely durable and unique. The handle is ergonomically designed to protect your hand from the extremely sharp edge of the blade when you are using it. If you want to switch the rat tail tang design into a full tang simply select the full tang handle option. You can convert the rosewood handle into bone too. With an upper spine of 8 mm and a lower spine of 5 mm with a belly of 4.6 cm, this kukri offers both strength and precision while using it.

The weight of this 12″ Tactical Sirupate Kukri | Baanspate Khukuri with the scabbard is approximately 580 gm. To protect this masterpiece kukri we provide a scabbard that is made from Uttish wood (Alnus nepalensis) and wrapped in water buffalo leather that serves as a durable and stylish shield for the blade. The scabbard has two pockets on the back of it. The pockets hold a blunt steel called “Chakmak” that can be used for sharpening the blade or for striking spark with a flint and a small sharp knife known as “Karda” used for skinning animals, opening cans, cutting paper, cutting or peeling small fruits & vegetables, etc. You can also customize the Karda and Chakmak to your liking if you want it. You can do so by simply selecting the option. This khukuri is a truly unique knife to gift your loved ones as well. This khukuri is a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts and survivalists. When you purchase a khukuri from Nepal Hand Crafted you can do so with peace of mind as all of our khukuris are backed by our up to 100 % Refund Policy.
