This 13” Bhojpure Jagat Bahadur Kukri | Gurkha Khukuri stands as one of the best designs of a traditional Nepalese kukri. This kukri is well-made as a masterful blend of craftsmanship and functionality. The name has an interesting origin. It stems from our master bladesmith’s father Jagat Bahadur, who inherited traditional knowledge passed down through generations which he passed unto his son. He is originally from Bhojpur in eastern Nepal. Hence the name of this khukuri is Bhojpure Jagat Bahadur Kukri.

The Bhojpure khukuris have long been one of the most preferred khukuris for Nepalese Army as well as British Gurkha Rifles, Indian Gorkha Regiments, Singapore Police etc. These types of khukuris have been extensively used in battles of both historic & modern wars.

The 13” Bhojpure Jagat Bahadur Kukri | Gurkha Khukuri is a versatile kukri knife. Its 13-inch long blade is made from 5160 highly graded carbon steel with a balanced temper, ensuring exceptional strength. The steel is heated, beaten, folded, and beaten again, resulting in a strong & powerful blade capable of handling indoor and outdoor heavy duty tasks such as cutting logs and hardwood. It has a rat tail tang handle made from rosewood (Sati saal) which makes it extremely durable. You can customize the handle to be one with a full-tang selecting the appropriate option above. The handle, measuring 5 inches, is made from the same single piece of steel that continues to the blade, providing extreme sturdiness & durability.

The total length of the 13” Bhojpure Jagat Bahadur Kukri | Gurkha Khukuri Knife measures approximately 18 inches, with a 6.5 cm belly. The blade has an upper spine thickness of 8 mm and a lower spine thickness of 5 mm. Since it is crafted from high carbon steel, it can be sharpened with ease to maintain its sharpness according to your preference.

To protect and carry the kukri knife, a scabbard made of Uttish wood (Alnus nepalensis) wrapped with water buffalo leather, is provided. The leather scabbard protects the knife and also adds to the beauty of this already beautiful knife. Additionally, a leather loop known as Faraas, a frog leather, is integrated into the scabbard. This allows the khukuri to be carried on the belt. The weight of the kukri knife with the sheath is approximately 900 gm.

The scabbard on this beautiful 13” Bhojpure Jagat Bahadur Kukri | Gurkha Khukuri knife has two pockets on the back of it. The pockets hold a blunt steel called “Chakmak” for sharpening (honing) the blade or for striking spark with a flint to produce fire; The other pocket holds a small sharp knife known as “Karda” used for skinning animals, opening cans, cutting paper, cutting or peeling small fruits & vegetables, etc. This khukuri is also a truly unique knife to gift your loved ones. This khukuri is a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts and survivalists.

You can request to customize this khukuri from one with rat-tail tang handle to one with full tang handle. You can also request to customize the Karda and Chakmak if you want it with larger handles or want a Karda with a blade made from the same high quality 5160 high carbon steel as that of the main kukri.
